Welcome to the New Zeen Newsletter
Stories, updates, and helpful tips from across the Zeen community.
We’re so glad you’re here. The Zeen Newsletter is our new way to keep you connected with everything happening at Zeen, and a fresh issue will arrive every other month.
Each issue is a chance to get to know the people who make our community so special. You’ll meet Zeen users, hear about their lives in their own words, and see how the Zeen has helped them stand tall, stay active, and get back to the things they love.
You’ll also get a closer look at what our team is up to, from our work with Veterans and VA facilities across the country to new ideas we can’t wait to share. Along the way, we’ll pass along tips to help you get the most out of your Zeen, and maybe introduce you to a furry friend or two.
In every issue
A note from our CEO, Rick Sherak, on our mission and what’s ahead.
The furry companions who keep our Zeen users company.
Real conversations with Zeen users about their lives and how the Zeen helps.
Our work with Veterans and the VA, plus stories from Veteran Zeen users.
Quick, helpful ways to get the most out of your Zeen.
Celebrating a Zeen user whose story inspires us all.
Have a story to share?
We’d love to hear how the Zeen fits into your life, or meet the pet who keeps you company. Send us a note and a photo, and you could be featured in an upcoming issue.

At Zeen, we believe independence is one of the most important parts of quality of life.
In the United States, millions of people struggle with Mobility Related Activities of Daily Living, or MRADLs. These are the everyday tasks that let someone care for themselves and move safely through their home: bathing, dressing, using the restroom, grooming, eating, standing, walking, and getting from one place to another.
For many people with limited mobility, these moments can become hard, tiring, or unsafe. That is where Zeen comes in.
Zeen helps people stand, walk, and move through their home with greater confidence. By supporting upright mobility, it keeps users active in their daily routines, eases the strain on caregivers, and significantly reduces the risk of falls.
One of Zeen's biggest advantages is its hands-free design. Unlike most mobility devices, Zeen leaves your hands free to get dressed, make lunch, brush your teeth, reach into a cabinet, or just move from room to room.
MRADLs may sound clinical, but they represent something deeply personal. They are about dignity, freedom, and the ability to keep living life on your own terms.
That is the heart of our mission. Zeen is not just about helping people move. It is about helping people keep doing the things that matter most, safely and confidently.

Meet Boots
Meet an adorable companion who stole our hearts this month
For our first Pet of the Month, we’d like to introduce you to Boots, Susan’s adorable cat! He is very friendly, fluffy, cuddly, and loves to explore indoors and outdoors. You can see more of Susan in our Eye Level Chat.

Back in the Garden with Susan
How her Zeen helped her stand tall, reach, and grow things again.
Susan has been using her Zeen for two years, and she says it has given her back things she thought she’d lost. About eight years ago, Susan was diagnosed with ataxia after her cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls movement and balance, began to atrophy. Before the Zeen, a walker got in her way constantly, making it hard to open a door or pull up to a counter, and she suffered many falls and broken bones. Since getting her Zeen, she hasn’t fallen once.
Most of all, it has brought her back to her garden. Susan can now stand tall to prune, reach forward to tie back the vines along her fence, bend low to dig holes, and gather up her trimmings, all while feeling safe. “I feel productive and I can see the results right away,” she says, and she loves filling her yard with beauty that she’s created and her friends and family can enjoy.
Her advice to anyone considering a Zeen? If it could help your mobility, make you feel safer, or improve your quality of life, it’s worth every penny.

Connecting with VA Leadership at the PVA Summit in Las Vegas
Honoring service and sharing information from Veteran Zeen users
We recently attended the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) Summit in Las Vegas, where we connected with VA leadership to discuss how the Zeen can enhance quality of life, independence, and confidence for our nation’s Veterans.
The Summit brought meaningful conversations with professionals from across the VA system about the needs of Veterans with mobility challenges, and the role supported mobility can play in their overall health and wellness. We met many new faces and caught up with familiar ones from VA facilities we already work closely with.

These conversations helped us better understand where the Zeen fits within the VA and how we can keep working alongside clinicians and leadership to expand access. We’re excited about the relationships we’re building, and we look forward to creating new opportunities to bring the Zeen to more Veterans who may benefit from it.
If you’re a Veteran looking for greater mobility and independence, or you know a Veteran who may benefit from the Zeen, we’d love to connect. Give us a call or send us an email, and we’ll put you in touch with our team to learn more.

If your Zeen’s seat gets locked off level, don’t worry. You can get it back to level in just a few steps.
Squeeze and bounce
Squeeze and hold both lift levers, then gently bounce your weight on the seat. This frees the seat so you can bring it back to level at any height.
Still stuck? Use the release cable
Pull the seat release cable on the side, away from the pin block, while you bounce your weight on the seat.
Reset your height
Once the seat is free, bring it back to the height and position you want.
Lock it back in
Make sure the seat release cable is fully inserted back into its barrel adjuster before you ride.

Meet Dona
Walking again, standing tall, and happy at 98
Every now and then, a letter arrives that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. This one came all the way from Santa Barbara, California.
For a while, walking hadn’t been part of Dona’s everyday life. Now, with her new Zeen, she’s up on her feet, standing tall, and moving again. Even better, she’s already feeling her legs get stronger.
“The Zeen has brought joy back into my life.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. The Zeen was designed to help people stand upright, walk with confidence, and get back to the moments that matter most. Hearing that it’s done that for Dona, in her own words, means the world to our whole team.
Dona, thank you so much for writing to us and sharing your photo. We’re thrilled to name you our September/October User of the Month! Keep standing tall, keep getting stronger, and keep being happy. We’re cheering you on every step of the way.
Here’s the letter Dona sent us:
Sirs:
I just received my Zeen and am walking now, standing straight, something I have not done in a long time. The Zeen has brought joy back into my life, as well as stronger legs. I’m 98 and happy!
Dona - Santa Barbara, CA
